The 6th International Linguistics Olympiad

The 6th International Linguistics Olympiad was held in Slanchev Bryag, Bulgaria from August 4 to August 9, 2008.

16 teams from 11 countries participated, with Germany, Slovenia, and Republic of Korea sending participants for the first time.

Participants competed to solve problems on diverse languages including Micmac, Old Norse, Drehu and Cemuhî, Copainalá Zoque, Inuktitut, and Mandarin and Cantonese.

The jury awarded 20 medals (3 gold, 7 silver, and 10 bronze), as well as 4 team contest trophies, a team cup for highest average score, and 6 best solution prizes.
