The 7th International Linguistics Olympiad

The 7th International Linguistics Olympiad was held in Wrocław, Poland from July 26 to July 31, 2009.

23 teams from 17 countries participated, with Australia, Great Britain, India, and Ireland sending participants for the first time.

Participants competed to solve problems on diverse languages and writing systems including Sulka, N'Ko, Burmese, Old Indic, Nahuatl, and Vietnamese.

The jury awarded 22 medals (2 gold, 9 silver, and 11 bronze), as well as 20 honorable mentions, 3 team contest trophies, a team cup for highest average score, and 9 best solution prizes.
